Scientific Name: Bixa orellana. Common name: Annatto or 'Lipstick Tree' . Native to tropical America and the West Indies but it is widely cultivated for its fruit. An easily grown subtropical tree that does well in Florida or a container plant. It can reach a height of 6 to 10 feet but can be easily pruned to any desired size and shape.
