Scientific Name: Abrus precatorius.  Common names: Rosary or Prayer Beads, Precatory Bean, Sailor's Valentine. This is a tropical vine with small inconspicuous violet-colored flowers their main attraction is the bright red seeds that form in the bean-like pods. The striking red and black seeds are used for jewelry and other craft projects. The vine can become invasive in tropical areas.  Easy to grow from seeds.
