Scientific Name: Acanthocereus tetragonus. Common Name: Triangle Cactus, Barbed-wire Cactus or Night Blooming Cactus. This is a wide-ranging tropical American species which grows from southern Texas to South America. It is a terrestrial or epiphylic cactus with fleshy stems that grows by clinging, by means of aerial roots, to a support structure. They are night-blooming with big white flowers and the fruits are shiny, red and edible (very sweet-tasting). Commonly cultivated in dry tropical or subtropical regions for it's delicious and attractive fruit. A robust and hardy plant that will need plenty of space. It is easy to grow from seeds.
