Quantity:

Scientific Name: Leucaena leucocephala.  Common names: Leucaena, Lead tree, Jumbay, or White popinac. This is a very fast growing tropical tree with mimosa type leaves tree. Native to Mexico. It is useful for a variety of purposes, such as firewood, fiber and livestock feed. During the 1970s and 1980s it was promoted as a "miracle tree" because of its multiple uses. In tropical countries it is used as a "mother tree'for shading the production of black pepper, coffee, cocoa, quinine, and vanilla and for hedges. Excellent for biomass production it has proven to be an excellent protein source for cattle fodder, consumed browsed or harvested, mature or immature, green or dry. The nutritive value is equal to or superior to alfalfa. Efficient at nitrogen fixation it has gained a favorable reputation in land reclamation, erosion control, water conservation, reforestation and soil improvement programs, and is a good cover and green manure crop. Easy to grow from seeds

This item is a special hobby grower's packet of fifty (50) Leucaena leucocephala "Miracle Tree" seeds, to be delivered upon receipt of payment. Note that the buyer pays $3.95 postage & handling.
