Scientific Name: Passiflora ambigua. Common Name: none known. Native to Belize, Mexico and Central America. It is a large climbing and flowering perennial vine that has large flowers and baseball-sized edible fruits. The flowers are atractive but smell very bad. The plant serves as larval foodplant for several butterfly species. Used as a medicine in Belize treating head colds and high blood pressure. A tea of the leaves is used for some nervous disorders.
