Scientific Name: Jacaranda mimosifolia. Common Name(s): Jacaranda. Beautiful flowering tree, still rare in cultivation. Also known as Jacaranda acutifolia, this is sub-tropical tree native to Argentina, Bolivia and Brazil that has been widely planted around the world because of its beautiful and long-lasting blue flowers. Can grow up to 50 feet tall. It provides a spectacular flowering display in spring to summer when blue-purple colored flowers appear to literally cover the tree. In colder areas, these make excellent potted patio plants that can be wintered inside. They can be grown as year round houseplants or even as unique bonsai specimens. With its lacy large fern-like leaves, the tree itself is very attractive even when not in bloom. Easily propagated from seed and is relatively fast growing.
This item is a special collector's packet of fifty (50) Jacaranda mimosifolia seeds, to be delivered upon receipt of payment.
