Scientific Name: Hibiscus sp.  Common name: not known. This Hibiscus is a tropical evergreen shrub that is salt tolerant and produces flowers almost all year long. The flowers open up and start out yellow and then as the day progresses they turn to orange, and the may even turn to red by night. Native to tropical Asia but cultivated throughout the tropics and has become naturalized in tropical America. The flowers and young leaves are edible. It likes well drained soils and a sunny location. It makes an attractive specimen shrub in beach-front settings. Easy to grow from seeds.
