Grows to a height of 60 + feet it is a familiar palm around the world. Commonly used in street plantings in tropical regions and has nickname of the "pineapple palm" because it is usually trimmed to a form that gives appearance of a pineapple fruit. Easy to grow from seeds. Needs full sun, well drained position. Very hardy frost, salt spray, and drought tolerant.
