Scientific Name: Chenopodium ambrosloides.  Common name: 'Epazote'. An annual herb that Iis commonly used as a culinary herb as well as a medicinal plant. It bears numerous small yellow flowers and grows to a height of about 1 meter. It is a highly respected medicinal plant in Belize where it is used to treat and prevent a variety of intestinal parasites, worms and amebas. Native to Mexico, Belize and the tropical regions of Central and South America. Easy to grow from seeds. Can be used as container plant that is easily cared for. If you live in an area that has a year round warm climate, it may also be grown outdoors.
