Scientific Name: Caesalpinia pulcherrima. Common name: Dwarf Flamboyant, Dwarf poinciana, Pride of Barbados. A beautiful flowering tree with terminal flower clusters that are a orange-red color with a tinge of gold on the edges. Each flower has five showy petals with very prominent long red stamens. An easily grown subtropical tree that does well in Florida or a container plant. It can reach a height of 6 to 10 feet but can be easily pruned to any desired size and shape.
