This heavily-armed collectors' palm can grow to 30 feet on a solitary trunk, and presents a striking silhouette with its dense canopy of feather-type leaves. The fruits are edible and a delight to the kids in Belize. It is a popular landscape item in tropical regions. Grows naturally in Cuba, the Caribbean Islands, southern Mexico, Central America and Northern South America.
