Scientific Name: Zamia furfuracea. Common Name: Cardboard Palm. In spite of the common name, it is not a palm - it's a cycad. The leaves are stiff and feel cardboard, hence the common name. Excellent as a container plant. This easy to care for plant is one of the most popular cycads in cultivation. Native to Mexico. It can reach 3 to 4 feet in width and height. Prefers sun, good drainage and can tolerate brief periods of light frost.
